Finished!!!

Alright to everyone who competed in the Arnel Ricafranca 6-pack-abs challenge. It was a 16 week routine with ever increasing difficulty and pay-off.

I am quite happy (and impressed!) with my results this far and now know and am learning how to grow more and gain muscle. On a bit of a side note, I was only 1 of 2 vegetarians who dared rear our heads in this competition and I must say that plenty of veggies, tofu and whey protein are all I felt I needed in this contest.

I hope to see everyone else's updated blogs soon...but I was in this to win!

Blessings,

Kevin

Week 7 and the 300 Challenge

Well, having seen the movie 300 and being put to shame with the simply amazing physiques of those casted, I was hopeful for this week to be a hardy challenge to where I am.

I'm not destroying this work-out, nor is it destroying me. The push-ups went better than I thought - actually I did the alternating push-ups and the explosive ones quite well (I've never been able to do the explosive ones before~!).

The pull-ups are my definite weakness but I am supplementing my inability to do 30 of them with as many as I can do (a measly 5 - 10) with the exercizes Arnel posted a while ago for those who cannot do pull-ups well. We'll see how I progress...ll

Well, here are also this weeks updated pix, whether I like them or not!

Week 5 Has Begun!

Well, week 4 has begun.

There are definite improvements in the blogs I've been checking (all of them I think!) and I am encouraged also. My wife's comments about chest and ab definition being noticable was quite the encouragment...as well as a turn on! :0)

Well, the only thing I haven't done very consistantly would be the interval training. I've been about once or twice a week since we started and that is the one thing I have trouble getting done. I am trying to buckle down on that side of the 16-week challenge and realize it is probably a huge factor I am missing in getting my 6-pack noticable.

However, with 11 weeks left in this challenge, I am not out of the game yet.

Here's to a visable 6-pack!

Blessings,

Kevin

BodyLastics Work!

Well well! After the first day of week 3 I am feeling the effectiveness of the BodyLastic approach to fitness.

I understood in principal *how* the system was supposed to work - and even exceed BowFlex and other uber expensive workout equipment - but c'mon, I was a bit skeptical.

After the first few sets I thought "Dang! I should've bought the Terrell Owens set - this isn't enough resistance." But then I started feeling the burn! Yay!

Here are my week 3 pix, and I'm not too sure how well I am stacking up. I want to win, but I continually platough in almost any work-out routine I've tried. I want this one to be different, but I will only be satisfied when I see the results.

In the words of Dana Carvey, "I want to pump [me] up!"

Here's hoping,

Kevin

Week One Almost Done...

Well, with week one almost finished, I feel good.

I was INTENSELY sore after the first day, but now after the second round of exercises, feel quite good. Pull-ups are still my weakness, but all in all, I am hopeful.

I guess we'll see how week 16 turns out.

Here's to us and our abs!

Blessings!

First day...woo!

Well, it's the second day of the 16-week challenge, but I'm blogging for yesterday.
Ivan wrote in the Google Group "We're in this together, so I might as well add my blog to the rest" - and I think I need to toss my name in that hat.

My name is Kevin; I'm 24 (on Friday); I'm 182 lbs; and I'm probably the only vegetarian among us.

That's cool with me...I enjoy the odds being against me.

Here's to team work-outs!

Be blessed,
Kevin
